Trumpet Awards founder Xerona Clayton to headline DeKalb’s MLK celebration PDF Print E-mail

Founder and CEO of the Trumpet Awards Foundation, Inc., Xerona Clayton, will deliver the keynote address at the 29th Annual DeKalb County MLK Celebration on Jan. 18, 11 a.m., in the Maloof Auditorium, 1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur.

 

With the theme “Female Pioneers of the Civil Rights Movement,” this year marks the 29th consecutive year DeKalb will host the event honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King.

 

Clayton, a leader in civic projects and civil rights activities, worked closely with the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Clayton launched the Trumpet Awards to highlight African American accomplishment and contributions from around the globe.

 

The celebration is free and open to the public.
