Evangelist Sean Monterio succumbs to cancer

Prophet Sean Monterio, a well-known traveling evangelist who lived in Gwinnett County, has passed. Prophet Monterio died Monday at 10:50 p.m. at his home after battling cancer for more than a year. He was 48.

"Prophet Monterio was known by many great men of God from all around North America. He ministered from the pulpits of people such as Bishop Noel Jones, Bishop Paul Morton and Marvin Sapp," said Bishop Gary Hawkins, Sr. a close friend.

 

 

Bishop Hawkins said Prophet Monterio also preached at Voices of Faith Ministries, which has locations in Stone Mountain, Conyers, Gainesville, Suwanee,Lovejoy and Baton Rouge, LA.

 

Prophet Monterio's family is in the process of making funeral arrangements, which will include burial in New York, where he is from, said Bishop Hawkins.

Prophet Monterio is survived by his wife, Laurren, and three sons.
