ATLANTA--On Tuesday, Sept. 24, the League of Women Voters of Georgia will join other civic organizations in a massive 50-state drive to register voters for elections that will be held in November. The League will have a rally from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Georgia State Capitol, Washington Street.
"Sept. 24th is National Voter Registration Day, and it's important that citizens understand that all elections--even so-called off year elections--are extremely important," said Elizabeth Poythress, president of the League of Women Voters of Georgia. "Some 1,500 political races and ballot initiatives will be decided in Georgia on election day this year."
Local Leagues of Women Voters of Georgia and their partners will be holding registration drives at the following locations:

LWV of Gwinnett & Georgia Association of Elected Latino Officials - Norcross Library, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
LWV of Dalton Area - Western Sizzler, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
