|Early voting crawls at snail’s pace in Rockdale|

With early voting under way for the City of Conyers General Election, turnout has been light, Rockdale County elections officials say. Of 47,063 active voters on the rolls, only 398 had voted as of Oct. 18, according to Elections Supervisor Cynthia Welch.
Rockdale voters are deciding on whether to support a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax for Education, also known as E-SPLOST. They also are deciding on the city of Conyers’ mayoral race, where incumbent Randy Mills is being challenged by Kathy L. Harvey and Michael Thomas Zanetti. The ballot also includes Chris Bowen, who is running unopposed for the City Council District 2, Post 1 seat.
