The U.S. Marshals Service and Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office have arrested an Illinois sexual assault suspect who has been living in the Conyers area for the past several years.
Authorities arrested Derrick Nevilles, 48, on a warrant charging him with sexually assaulting two teen females between 2004 and 2010 while working as a music producer and talent developer in Park Forest, Illinois, just south of Chicago.
A fugitive investigation revealed that the suspect was currently living in south Rockdale County.
Rockdale deputies and the RCSO deputy assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service went to a residence on Brentwood Lane off Bell Road on March 11 around 11 p.m. Once there, deputies made contact and arrested Nevilles on a warrant from the Park Forest Police Department for aggravated criminal sexual assault.
“Once again, the cooperative efforts of the U.S. Marshals Service and Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office were able to get a criminal off the street,” said Sheriff Eric Levett. “I hope that this apprehension will yet again show that Rockdale County in not the place to do crime or to hide from it.”
Nevilles was transported to the Rockdale County Jail to await extradition to Illinois.
