Business Spotlight: Simply Sassy salon makes fairy tale prom for three high school girls

For many high school students, prom is an epic event. But for some, the cost to attend that special dance is more than their families can afford.

One DeKalb County salon reached out to three local high school girls to help them make that fairytale night a reality.

“We’ve been here eight months and we wanted to give back to the Lithonia community, especially our youth,” said Timmeia Wilcoxson of Simply Sassy Hair Salon. “Whether the night signifies the end of their high school experience or it is simply the marvel of dressing up and enjoying classic dance themes, prom is a rite of passage every girl deserves.”

With the help of the non-profit, Operation Prom, Wilcoxson and her team of stylists provided hair services, as well as a brunch for the young ladies, who are seniors at Newton County High School.

Simply Sassy Hair Salon is located at 8075 Mall Parkway, Suite 107 in Lithonia. The salon has four stylists and one make-up artist. The hair stylists—Angela Arnold, Lisey Delgado, Lauren Medina and Wilcoxson—specialize in custom colors, designer and creative cuts, keeping hair healthy and working with chemotherapy patients to revive their hair.
