Grant writing workshop set Thursday

DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson is hosting a grant writing workshop for homeowners' associations, educators and others who are interested in
learning about the grant writing process and grant-funded opportunities related to community beautification and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.)

The workshop will be held on Thursday, April 17, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Porter Sanford Performing Arts & Community Center, 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur.

The workshop will be presented by Jessica Hill of the University of Georgia's Cooperative Extension program, and is part of Commissioner Johnson's Leadership Institute. The institute offers seminars that are designed to educate community leaders and others who are interested in business, finances, grants and technology.

"Understanding that knowledge is power is fundamental for making life advancements," said Johnson. "But just as important is having the discipline to activate the knowledge gained, and this insightful workshop is designed to equip attendees with the knowledge to help them succeed."
