DeKalb trial: Wife seeking divorce shot and killed

DECATUR--Jury selection is underway in a case involving a DeKalb County man who is accused of shooting his wife and her cousin after she informed him she was filing for a divorce.

Jason Bryant, 28, killed his wife, Angelena Bryant, on March 7, 2012, according to the indictment. Angelena was heading to obtain a temporary protective order against her husband on the day she and her cousin Trina Nwoke were shot. Nwoke survived the assault.

Jason Bryant is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and terroristic threats. Assistant District Attorney Carrie McCurdy is serving as lead prosecutor.
