The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) will host a community block party Saturday, May 31, 5 – 8 p.m. in Country Walk and Fieldstone View subdivision, 2134 Country Walk Way in Conyers on.
“The purpose of the block party is not only for me to meet with the Fieldstone View and Country Walk residents, but also for everyone to discuss ideas on how the community can work with the RCSO to address crime and make the community safer and more vibrant,” said Sheriff Eric J. Levett.
Commissioners JaNice Van Ness and Oz Nesbit, who are supporting the block party, will be on hand to discuss community concerns and plans for improvement as well.
This event is designed to bring the neighborhood citizens closer together and bridge a closer relationship with the RCSO to help fight crime in the community. Organizers say residents will get a chance to get to know the deputies with the RCSO and kids will also have plenty of activities and games.
“I hope every citizen in Country Walk and Fieldstone View will join us at the block party and meet members of the Sheriff’s Office and their neighbors,” said Levett. “Fighting crime in a community takes more than just locking people up. Making a community safer also requires the help of the residents to beautify the community.”
