SDIA invites public to housing and lending forum

 SDIA

The South DeKalb Improvement Association, Inc. (SDIA) is hosting their quarterly meeting and a public forum on housing and lending practices on Saturday, June 14, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Berean Community Center, 2440 Young Road, Stone Mountain.

The meeting is open to all – members, individuals, HOAs, churches, groups and organizations – who are interested in creating a sustainable South DeKalb.

SDIA’s Code Compliance, Economic Development, Education, Housing and Safety Committees will provide updates on the organization’s 2014 slate of projects at the event.

Guest speaker, Wayne G. Early, President of Early Economics, Inc. (EEI), will discuss how the foreclosure crisis disproportionately affects communities of color, explain housing and lending practices, present disturbing statistics, educate attendees on their rights, and talk about options to address the situation.

The South DeKalb Improvement Association (SDIA) is a non-profit, non-political organization.  SDIA’s mission is to give the residents of South DeKalb a voice and platform in addressing common issues that affect them.
