Both, residents and representatives, gathered from across the state to celebrate the DeKalb County’s NAACP 10th Annual Martin Luther King Holiday parade on Jan. 16 in the village of Stone Mountain.

Parade goers weathered the cold to come to the historic city and show support to groups, schools and organizations honoring the late civil rights legend.

DeKalb NAACP President John Evans kicked off the parade with grand marshals Congressman Hank Johnson and DeKalb Schools Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Atkinson.

Dozens of high school marching bands, biker clubs, Greek organizations and other community groups participated in the holiday event.
