Four DeKalb cities to install elected officials

The New Year will bring new leadership in the cities of Stone Mountain, Pine Lake, Lithonia and Clarkston. Officials who were elected in the four cities’ recent municipal races will be sworn in at the first City Council meetings of the year.

 

Stone Mountain Mayor

     Patricia Wheeler

 

In Stone Mountain, Mayor Patricia Wheeler will be sworn in on Jan. 5, 5:30 p.m.  Along with Wheeler, Nan Odum Nash will join incumbents Susan Coletti and Steve Higgins to be sworn in at that same time.

Clarkston’s Mayor Howard Tygrett also will be sworn in on Jan.  5. The meeting starts at  6 p.m. Along with Tygrett, new Clarkston City Council members Dean Moore; Joan Swaney and Adam White also will take the oath of office.

The Lithonia City Council officially will welcome William “Ric” Dodd. He will be sworn in at the City Council meeting on Jan. 4, 7 p.m. Dodd will take the oath of office along with incumbents Al T. Franklin and Deborah Jackson, who were re-elected.    

Pine Lake will welcome Cindy Diamond at the City Council meeting on Jan. 11, 7:30 p.m. Diamond will be sworn in along with incumbents Kathie E. DeNobriga and Melanie Hammett.
