So your tastebuds are longing for some good ol’ Southern cooking and you don’t know where to go. Look no further. Sharon’s Southern Cuisine, a new eatery, has opened in Olde Town Conyers. The yellow and white 8,500-square-foot Victorian mansion where Sharon’s is located was formerly known as Michelangelo’s Italian Continental Cuisine.

Sharon’s is elegantly appointed with linen tablecloths and napkins and features two main dining areas for its bountiful buffet where you’ll find Southern favorites such as delicious fried chicken, meat loaf, candied yams, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, string beans, peach cobbler, banana pudding and more.

“Our restaurant is home of the best collards in town,” said Sharon Satterwhite, owner and operator of the restaurant.

Sharon’s, which opened Nov. 14, 2009, held its grand opening on Jan. 23.  As a part of the celebration, Sharon’s offered its patrons “two-for-the-price-of-one” coupons. A host of visitors dropped in to experience the new addition to Olde Town Conyers.

The restaurant, which sits on beautiful grounds and overlooks the railroad tracks, offers two floors and several rooms for private dining. The facility holds up to 400 occupants and has two large rooms that can be used for private events for up to 200 people. The location was previously used by several television and movie companies for filming.

Sharon’s offers a full bar, as well as big screen TVs. Their future plans are to provide more sports entertainment.

The lunch buffet is priced at $8.99 per person; dinner is $12.99; and Saturday brunch is $14.99. On Friday evenings, from 5 to 8 p.m., patrons can enjoy a seafood buffet at a cost of $24.99.

Sharon’s is located at 951 Railroad Street, Conyers, GA 30012. The restaurant is open Monday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. – midnight; and Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. – 2 a.m. The last seating for the buffet is at 8 p.m. The bar and a la carte menu items are available from 9 p.m. – midnight. In addition to the buffet and a la carte offerings, Sharon’s provides catering services.
