Congressman Henry “Hank” Johnson (GA-04) is kicking off the 2020 Census count campaign with a video to promote the count and encourage community leaders and stakeholders to get involved. The video was shot in the Democratic Congressional Studio and will be featured on all of the congressman’s social media outlets.
“The census informs how billions of dollars are allocated every year to health clinics, schools, affordable housing, and hundreds of other critical services and programs that make a difference in our lives every day,” said Johnson in the video. “It only takes a few minutes, but the impact will be felt for years.”
In October of 2019, Congressman Hank Johnson formed a Complete Count Committee to tackle the 2020 Census. The committee has more than 40 elected officials, representatives and stakeholders from DeKalb, Rockdale, Newton and Gwinnett counties.
For the first time, the Census will be digital. Residents will be able respond to the Census online, by phone or by mail. Correspondence from the United States Census will be in the mailboxes of GA-04 residents soon. The district covers parts of DeKalb, Gwinnett, Newton and all of Rockdale County.
Locally, the census count will begin in March. National Census Day is April 1.
